Slideshow-10-675x482The current situation of severe delays due to port congestion still continues to plague the U.S. West Coast Ports, forcing shippers to re-examine their supply chains and routings.

Tacoma, Oakland, and LA/LGB continue to see delays in vessels being worked, as well as delays between 3-6 days on vessel outbound departures.

Severe terminal congestion throughout the ports continues to be a problem.  Delay times range anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks.

The ILWU and PMA continue to negotiate, but the Ports face congestion problems regardless.  There are a myriad of issues that relate to the congestion including chassis shortages and new mega-ships being built without enough capacity to handle at the port.

The situation is very dynamic.  Scarbrough continues to monitor it closely and works on pushing our clients’ freight through as quickly as possible.
