There are plenty of factors that contribute to tightening truck capacity and rising transportation costs, but one of the most overlooked is the lack of adequate truck parking. Securing a truck to haul a load may be problem No. 1 for many shippers, but for the truck driver, the big problem may be where to park that rig during breaks and rest periods.
At its worst, truck parking is a life-and-death issue.
