Shipments will be Delayed at Brussels Airport

Our Netherlands/Belgium partner Rotra Group announced that as of February 13, 2019, “Belgian trade unions have called a national strike after disagreement on a framework wage agreement for the next two years. The Christian, socialist and liberal unions are unhappy with the decision by the Central Council for Business to limit wage increases to a mere 0.8% in addition to the automatic index rise to compensate for inflation. Therefore many airlines already cancelled many flights to from Airport Brussels this Wednesday.”

To prevent delay it is recommended to use Amsterdam Schiphol Airport for your airfreight shipments to/from Belgium on and around February 13, 2019.

According to Deutshe Welle,  “Brussels Airlines, a Lufthansa subsidiary and Belgium’s largest airline, announced the cancellation of all flights for Wednesday, February 13. The decision announced on Friday comes as the country braces for a nationwide general strike called by unions.”
