Longshoreman Slowdown Next Summer

The U.S. shipping industry should be aware that next summer we may be experiencing another slowdown like the Longshoreman Strike of 2012 if employers and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union do not reach agreement on a new contract by June 30, 2014 when the old one expires.Scarbrough suggests that businesses forecast this and begin shipping early.

If you don’t have enough space for your inventory, Scarbrough can provide storage in our bonded warehouses.  We have FTZ capabilities, and any customized solution that will help your business overcome these type of supply chain challenges that we cannot control.  What we can do is forecast and be prepared.
