CBP Answers USMCA Questions

The U.S. – Mexico – Canada Agreement (USMCA) entered into force on July 1, 2020, replacing the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The North American Strategy for Competitiveness (NASCO) is hosting an informational call with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to answer USMCA Compliance-related questions.

CBP USMCA Compliance

CBP USMCA Compliance Training

CBP has prepared a collection of compliance guidance resources to facilitate the private sectors’ preparations for compliance with this new trade agreement. These compliance guidance resources include USMCA implementing instructions, pre-recorded webinars walking through the differences between NAFTA and the USMCA, fact sheets, and other resources. CBP has also launched a USMCA Center to coordinate CBP’s implementation of this Agreement, ensuring a smooth transition with consistent and comprehensive guidance to our internal and external stakeholders.

CBP will also be providing informational briefings to trade associations and industry groups regarding the USMCA, providing an overview of the agreement and highlighting the informational resources and points of contact.

If you have specific questions you’d like addressed, please send them by July 14, 2020 to jennifer@nasconetwork.com and reference the USCBP USMCA webinar on July 16. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
